The Haskell County Hospital Foundation is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation that exists to foster and support the purposes and Mission of Haskell Memorial Hospital. The Foundation, established in 2020, encourages, receives, and manages gifts and bequests for the benefit of Haskell Memorial Hospital. Through fundraising and support efforts, the Foundation’s Mission is to provide funding for Haskell Memorial Hospital’s needs and programs in order to help the hospital carry on its legacy of delivering high-quality, compassionate healthcare in Haskell County and the surrounding region.
In 1935, in the midst of the country’s worst economic crisis, the Great Depression, a group of visionaries recognized the need for a hospital in Haskell County. In July 1937, Haskell County voters approved a $60,000 bond, despite the national unemployment rate of 14 percent. On October 23, 1939, Haskell Memorial Hospital opened its doors to begin a legacy of providing outstanding healthcare to the folks in Haskell County and the surrounding region.
After almost 85 years, that legacy continues. The Haskell County Hospital Foundation Board of Trustees is made up of men and women with the same progressive mindset as those pioneers of the 1930s. They are committed to fortifying the future of healthcare in Haskell County. The trustees recognize that the best way to offer long-term, substantial support to the hospital is through the establishment of an endowment. An endowment will generate perpetual income for the Foundation, which will benefit the hospital indefinitely.
