Coplen joins the DCOH

The Development Corporation of Haskell (DCOH) is proud to announce Ms. Jimi Coplen as their new Executive Director.

headshot April 2016Ms. Coplen comes to the DCOH most recently from the Knox County where she has been working in economic and community development for the past five and a half years. Before that she served as the Executive Director of the Aspermont Economic Development  Corporation.  She has a vast knowledge of working with local businesses and organizations as well as business recruitment.

Living and working in the region much of her life brings understanding of agriculture, oil and gas and renewable energy industries that drive the local economy.  Coplen says she has always been impressed with Haskell. “Haskell continues to look to the future. They have a diversity of businesses and are a natural ‘hub’ for the surrounding towns. I’ve always enjoyed working with the leadership of Haskell. Also, the renewable energy projects are providing a great economical boom for the city and county.”

DCOH President Lonnie Meredith added, “We are very excited about Jimi joining our team. She comes to us with experience and exciting ideas to improve the economic climate in Haskell. I have been impressed with her insightful questions concerning Haskell thus far.”

Coplen added, “I love the slogan, ‘Deep Roots Bright Horizons’ because that is the essence of this community.  You want to be in a place that feels like home, but also has a vision for the future.”

Another board member told us, “Jimi has had an excellent track record with the Knox-Haskell Rural Leadership program, and we believe she brings that same determination and positive outlook to Haskell in her new role as CEO of the Development Corporation of Haskell.”
